Why study photography?

Photography is a very practical, hands-on, creative subject. It is perfect for students who are able to work hard and enjoy the challenge of lots of independent projects using your own initiative and a range of digital format and programmes, such as Photoshop.

If you like the idea of developing photography and digital skills through lots of practical work based around your own identity, then photography is the choice for you.

What will I learn?

You will create a portfolio of work based on the starting point topic of ‘Your Identity’ which is
completed throughout years 10 and 11 using a variety of techniques and formats.

How will I be assessed?

  • Portfolio
  • Examination (10 hours, split over two days)

  • Photography can be continued into further education at Hucknall Sixth Form Centre
  • Photographer
  • Film-maker
  • Graphic designer
  • Marketing
