Welcome to Queen Elizabeth’s Academy

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Queen Elizabeth’s Academy, we are delighted that you have chosen our academy for the next steps in your child’s education. Transition is an exciting time and we really hope that your child enjoys their first experiences of the academy and it helps to ensure a smooth transition from year 6 to year 7.

Sending your child off to secondary school can be daunting but we are confident that they will quickly settle in and enjoy their time as a member of our academy.

For those pupils who have been offered a place at Queen Elizabeth’s Academy, it’s very important to accept this offer as soon as you can – parents/carers will need to do this through Nottinghamshire County Council – an email should have been received with instructions on how to do this.

We are here to support year 6 pupils with transition to secondary education.

School uniform expectations from September 2026 onwards

• QEA branded blazer
  OR
• QEA branded school jumper
• White shirt – long or short sleeved
• Black formal trousers – leggings, jeggings or sportswear are not permitted
  OR
• Black formal skirt – formal in style, sensible length, to the knee. Fashion tube skirts are not permitted.
  OR
• QEA branded black shorts – no other shorts are permitted except for PE lessons
• Plain black formal shoes or ankle boots – plain, no other colours or logos. Trainers or plimsolls are not permitted.
• Ties are no longer required

Things to do before starting at QEA

• Accept the school place with NCC
• Attend parent transition evening (date to be confirmed)
• Attend student transition days – Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 July 2026
• Read ‘essential guide to QEA’ (to be given at parent transition evening)
• Return completed paperwork (to be given at parent transition evening)
• Buy school uniform items (see new uniform expectations from September 2026))
• Log-in information for Reach More Parents and ParentPay will be issued in September.
