Admission to Queen Elizabeth’s Academy
We welcome applications for admission to Queen Elizabeth’s Academy from students of all faiths, and none. Whilst the academy is Church of England, it is not obligatory for parents/guardians or the individual students to practise a faith or to worship regularly.
The decision of where to send your son/daughter as they move into secondary education is a very important one, and we aim to support families in making this decision. Together with our website, which contains key information, we open our doors to prospective students and their families at open evenings and events throughout the year, which are advertised on our event page and through social media.
Parents and guardians can also arrange to visit the academy during term-time at a time to suit them to see the academy in action – simply call our main office on 01623 623559 and book a tour.
The application process
Nottinghamshire County Council continues to administer the admissions process for Queen Elizabeth’s Academy and entry is still based upon the admissions criteria.

Key dates
The key dates for students applying to join year 7 in September 2027 are as follows:
- Queen Elizabeth’s Academy open evening 2026: Thursday 24 September 2026.
- Secondary school application deadline: Saturday 31 October 2026
- Exceptional late applications and changes to preferences: Monday 23 November 2026
- National offer day for secondary school placements: Monday 1 March 2027

Supplementary admissions forms
The supplementary admissions form is for applicants who wish church commitment to be taken into consideration as part of their application. This form must be completed in addition to the local authority’s application form.
