We were delighted to hear the fantastic news last week that Queen Elizabeth’s Academy have been shortlisted as a finalist for this year’s Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 Business Awards in the Commitment to the Community Award 2019.
Our shortlisting is evidence of our commitment to the local community, of which we are proud to be a part of and support the young people within it. The entry the academy submitted focussed on how we have supported the people within our community by organising collections for the local foodbank together with opening our doors to the public over the festive period for our Boxing Day Brunch.
Our festive event was made truly special by all of those who attended, together with the large number of volunteers from our student cohort, our staff, our governors and elsewhere in the community. We were also indebted to those companies who made monetary donations, food donations, or simply gave up their time to support us.
The awards take place on Friday 10 May 2019 – we’re proud to be involved and will update our full academy community with the results from the evening.
