Day one of the Duke of Edinburgh Award was simply incredible.
Students successfully navigated their way to the campsite, where they set up camp, cooked their food and absolutely made the most of every opportunity ahead of them.
Their teamwork was wonderful to see and the students were described as a delight to spend time with. They are a credit to both QEA and their families.
Mr Cooksey wowed the group with his campsite cooking skills – everyone was very impressed!
Later in the evening the group enjoyed time to relax, unwind, and play outdoor games with not a phone in sight!
Undertaking the DofE Award can be a life-changing experience. It is an opportunity to have fun with friends, discover new interests and talents, and a tool to develop essential skills for life and work. It is also a recognised mark of achievement, respected by employers.
We are delighted that so many students chose to undertake the challenge, and even more proud of the vast array of skills they have shown whilst here.
