Queen Elizabeth’s Academy held our remembrance event this morning, joined by a number of important dignitaries and guests.

Students and staff gathered to be greeted by Ms Percival. Readings were given by a selection of students, prayers were lead by Mrs Smart and Mrs Williams, our choir soloists sang beautifully, Mr Williams performed The Last Post, and a two minutes silence was observed impeccably by all.

Thank you to all of our students, staff and special guests for their respectful observation of our remembrance event today.

At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them.

We pray for service men and women
Who have died in the violence of war,
Each one remembered by and known by God.
We pray for all members of the armed forces,
Especially those who are in danger today,
Remembering their family, friends
And all pray for their safe return.
We pray for civilians whose lives are disfigured
by war or terror, and for peacemakers and peacekeepers,
who seek to keep our world secure and free
Heavenly Father, we hold before you those whose sacrifice,
we remember today.
Those names who are on our Academy War memorial,
all others that we know, and those whose names we will never know.
