Queen Elizabeth’s Academy have thoroughly enjoyed being part of a pilot scheme with Fish Heroes -Food Teacher’s Centre UK which seeks to give pupils a chance to prepare, cook and eat fish, aiming to develop more positive attitudes towards eating fresh fish sourced in the UK.
We were linked to The Cod’s Scallops in Sherwood, where we collected 50 portions of hake to get our project underway.
Students across years 9 and 10 learned more about fish, including sustainability, nutrition and of course their all-important practical session.
The recipe we followed was for a posh fish finger sandwich which worked so well with all our students at QEA – as these photos show!
Thank you The Cod’s Scallops and Food Teachers Centre for giving us such an amazing and very successful learning opportunity.
