Prior to the Easter break, a number of students from Hucknall Sixth Form Centre visited Southwell Minster at the culmination of their involvement in the Younger Leadership College’s ‘Leadership in Lent’ programme. The Younger Leadership College exists to “equip, resource and commission 1000 younger leaders between 15-30 to fulfil their God-given calling as leaders and disciples in culture and in the church.”

Over 20 of our students signed up to take part in the programme, which was designed to support the development of new skills, enabling individuals to create a portfolio identifying their own strengths, producing a picture of their future, and understanding about perceptions and reality. This work will benefit them throughout their lives, including their relationship with their own faith.

The event, which was also attended by young leaders from Magnus Academy and Samworth Church Academy, saw students present their visions for the future and the results of the surveys they had conducted, linking their findings to leadership. Students were then presented with their Bishop’s Leadership certificates for successfully completing the Leadership in Lent programme.

We would like to say congratulations to all who took part, and hope you have each learned new leadership skills to benefit your onward journey in education, employment and life in general. Well done!
