Our year 8 students recently enjoyed an incredible day at The Black Country Living Museum. Unlike traditional museums with objects behind glass, this unique living museum collects and rebuilds old buildings, preserving history for future generations.

QEA students had the amazing opportunity to walk the streets of a bygone era, wander into 19th century houses, and explore factory buildings. They even travelled across the site on a vintage bus!

One of the most memorable experiences was crouching and crawling through dark, damp, and narrow passages of the coal mines. This gave our students a glimpse into the tough conditions miners faced and their vital role in the Industrial Revolution.

A highlight of the trip was the underground boat ride on the canals, featuring a stunning light show. Many students earned certificates for their impressive ‘legging’ skills, helping to move the boat through the underground tunnels.

Year 8 were exceptional, with museum guides praising them as a credit to our school!

Well done, year 8, and thank you for making this trip so fantastic!
